A Christmas story thumbnail image.

After the Australian Government’s 2008 introduction of a new ‘income management’ regime for Northern Territory Aboriginal Australians, many families were unable to celebrate Christmas as usual. Djuma Dawes tells how his mother and other supporters, including Rotary Australia, arranged for the delivery of 16,000 Christmas presents across the Territory, believing that ‘everyone deserves to have a Merry Christmas.’
