Albert and Monique work in a plush hotel, respectively as night watchman and chambermaid. Monique is having an affair with Bob, the hotel barman. In order to finance their plan to elope to Biarritz and get rid of Albert, they set him up to burgle the room of one of the hotel guest. Albert is caught and the case is assigned to Judge Massot. During an interview with Judge Massot, Albert escapes and runs back home where he barricades himself with his children. As the police starts the siege of the house, Judge Massot decides to step in and talk Albert out of doing an even bigger mistake.
