Vicdocq is back in Paris, with poor old Flambart forever on his trail. After a close encounter with the police, Vidocq seeks refuge in a jewellery shop which happens to belong to Jacquelin, an old army pal. Jacquelin immediately hires Vidocq to work in the shop where his past experiences as a convict proves useful to fend off swindlers of all kind. Vidocq also becomes quite taken by Jacquelin’s upstairs neighbour, Annette.
