This biopic of Albert Schweitzer follows the young graduate of Medical school all the way to Gabon where he sets up a dispensary with the help of nurse Marie Winter. Their effort are interrupted with the onset of World War I as Albert realises he is a German citizen established in a French colony. See also: ‘Le Grand Blanc de Lambarene’(NLA #2108812, VHS).
