Gara has just been demobbed from the paratroopers and is looking forward to resuming life at home with his wife. On his arrival he discovers his whife in the arms of another man. Seething with rage, he starts to conceive a plan to murder her. An iron-clad alibi is provided by fellow paratroopers and when the investigation concludes, the young lover is found guilty of the murder. Gara is overwhelmed with guilt and the longer he remains silent about the crime, the more psychological torture he must endure.
