Clerambard lives on the edge of poverty in an old castle. He ekes a living out of killing cats and dogs and exploiting his family. His life is turned updside down after reading ‘The life of St Fancis of Assissi’. The Saint even appears to help Clerambard go out into the world to preach the gospel and reveal his newfound love of animals.
