A comedy-drama exploring the diverse social stratas in 1950s Italy as an unrelated group of people travel to Ostia Beach to escape Rome’s heat. During the course of the day their relationships are observed and their aspirations and destinies gradually revealed. Made on location in a Neo-Realist vein, using a partly amateur cast.
