Around 2015, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jody Eldred tested a pre-production model of the BlackMagic URSA Mini 4.6K in the Las Vegas desert. Aside from his 40-year career in film and TV, Eldred had spent 15 years testing cameras. “Wow,” was his response to the camera’s quality, but he had a few suggestions for on how to improve it. Less than a year later the URSA Mini Pro 4.6k was released with those changes implemented. “I was stunned,” Eldred has said. He hadn’t encountered a camera company that listened to the people who use them.
