Bringing the beloved characters of Beatrix Potter to life is no easy task, but Australian VFX studio Animal Logic did exactly that in Peter Rabbit and its sequel Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway. A hybrid of live-action and animation, the films deploy a range of techniques to bring Peter to life, along with the whole cast of characters including Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail. From initial sketches based on Potter’s original artwork to digital and physical sculptures incorporating the physiology of real rabbits, the animation project was an intensive process from beginning to end.
