Helen survived life in a German detention camp, her life was completely disrupted by the horror of war. Helen and her family were displaced persons when they migrated to Australia. Helen and her family found themselves transiting to Bonegilla, temporary accommodation for new migrants who had exchanged free or assisted passage to Australia.
