An Italian family in suburban Melbourne slaughter a pig, make sausages and soups from the flesh, and enjoy a tremendous feast. Brian McKenzie’s fascinating documentary about peasant tradition in the “new world” is a film that asks us to be witness to life and to death, to contemplate the nostalgia of place and displacement, which allows us to remember a world that we have a lost.
