Jack Holdsworth is one of the few remaining ‘Rats of Tobruk’. Here he reflects fondly on his time during the war and how the extreme circumstances created a strong bond between soldiers and their commanding officers. This bond, as Jack puts it, is a ‘hard habit to break’.
