America’s Cup Challenge is a one to two player competitive sports simulation. The included manual contains a lot of information about the America’s Cup including yachting terminology, race legs, wind angles, sails and weather conditions. The player controls the crew of a racing yacht using the joystick, chosing the type of sail at the start of the race and then switching between three different modes, helmsman, sails selection and winching. As Helmsman, players control the yacht’s direction. Sail selection allows players to move the angle of the sail’s boom and the level of use of the spinnaker or genoa. The manual advises the use of a good quality robust joystick.
