Join famed Square Enix game developer Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of the critically acclaimed MMORPG FINAL FANTASY XIV.
This exclusive developer talk, hosted by Stephanie ‘Hex’ Bendixsen, will delve into Yoshida’s creative process as he shares insights from his three-decade experience in game development, working on some of gaming’s most popular franchises including FINAL FANTASY and Dragon Quest.
Get a behind the scenes look and discover the strategies that have kept FINAL FANTASY XIV at the forefront of the genre. As Yoshida discusses some of the innovative approaches to game development, and what he’s learned from his 10+ years working on the FINAL FANTASY series.

About the speaker
Naoki Yoshida originally hails from Sapporo City, in Hokkaido Prefecture. After graduating a vocational school, he joined Hudson Soft Co., Ltd, and worked on the development of various franchises, including the Far East of Eden and Bomberman series.
In 2005, Yoshida joined Square Enix Co., Ltd. After working on the production of DRAGON QUEST: MONSTER BATTLE ROAD and DRAGON QUEST X, in 2010 he was appointed as Producer and Director of FINAL FANTASY XIV. Yoshida executed a meticulous plan to overhaul many of the original game’s systems that were heavily criticized, relaunching the title as FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Yoshida continues to lead the development and operations of FINAL FANTASY XIV, as well as oversee his division as Vice President of Creative Studio III. In 2018, Yoshida was appointed as a Member of the Square Enix Board of Directors.
Yoshida also recently worked as the Producer for FINAL FANTASY XVI, the latest standalone numbered title in the iconic FINAL FANTASY franchise.
Yoshida is an avid gamer, and not only does he enjoy playing FINAL FANTASY XIV with other players on his days off, but he actively plays other new releases as well.
