This autumn we can expect our mornings crisp, our afternoons cool and our cinema very international.
Our Autumn Matinees program begins with two rare screenings of the short feature Bernice Bobs Her Hair starring the late Shelley Duvall, directed by Joan Milkin Silver and adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story. The film comes from the ACMI Collection and recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Next, we follow Daniel Craig to Mexico City in Luca Guadagnino’s Queer adapted from William S. Burrough’s novella. Payal Kapadia’s Cannes Grand Prix-winning All We Imagine As Light takes us to Mumbai. And we visit a Japanese shrine where cats rule the roost (The Cats of Gokogu Shrine).
Following our Focus on Mohammad Rasoulof program in October, we’re very happy to bring The Seed of the Sacred Fig back to our screens in April. We’ll celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pedro Almodovar’s All About My Mother in May, coinciding with Mother's Day. And Autumn will draw to a close with an exclusive season of the new documentary Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story.
Join us in the cinema on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with new films beginning every fortnight.
