Over four exciting days, the 1st KOFIM (Korean Film Festival in Melbourne) offers a captivating showcase of Korean cinema in Melbourne.

This year's festival promises an extraordinary lineup of must-see hit movies. It kicks off with a special appearance by Lee Joon-ik, the director of the opening film, The King and the Clown, offering unique insights into his work.

Meet Director Lee Joon-ik

Join us for an exclusive opportunity to meet the acclaimed Korean director Lee Joon-ik, renowned for his profound exploration of Korean history and culture. Known for masterpieces like The King and the Clown and The Book of Fish, The Throne and Radio Star, Lee’s films have captivated audiences worldwide with their emotional depth and powerful storytelling.

On Thursday evening, before the screening of The King and the Clown, Director Lee will highlight key points of the film in a 30-minute session. Then, on Friday evening, before the screening of The Book of Fish, he will share his filmmaking stories during a 50-minute talk.

Don’t miss this chance to hear about Lee's filmmaking journey, the philosophies behind his works and his vision for the future of Korean cinema.
