A live score by Sally Seltmann sets the scene for a beautiful collection of unguarded moments from the lives of Hollywood's greatest screen goddesses.

Studio control, be gone! We delve into the Academy Film Archive to present a program of home movies, screen tests and behind-the-scenes moments from the private and professional lives of some of Hollywood's screen goddess greats. Away from the studio lot, and without the glitz and glamour of the red carpet, these personal moments reveal the women behind the screen goddess façade. Featuring Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Dandridge, Dorothy Arzner and many more, this collection of works begins almost a hundred years ago and takes us on a journey of classic Hollywood.

This very special silent screening will be paired with a musical accompaniment by singer-songwriter Sally Seltmann who draws on her earlier works as New Buffalo to piece together a score that is playful and melancholic in equal measure.
