Three guardian monsters must rise to defend Japan from the vengeful spirits that have taken over Godzilla.

Combining elements of folklore, ghost stories and classic kaiju battles, Giant Monsters All-Out Attack gives us a terrifying version of Godzilla possessed by the souls of those killed in the Pacific War.

The guardian spirits of the earth – Baragon, Mothra and King Ghiidorah (the latter two selected by Toho over less popular monsters, for film marketing purposes) – must be awakened to defend humanity from destruction.

The combination of a strong anti-war message, a truly evil Godzilla and some epic monster battles, makes this one of the franchise's favourites among fans, including director Takashi Yamazaki, who cites Giant Monsters All-Out Attack as an influence on his Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One (2023).

The effects in this film are some of Toho’s absolute best.
