Explore the gaming universe – from all angles.

Established in 2004, the Freeplay Independent Games Festival celebrates the artistic, cultural, counter-cultural, personal, political, social and playful power of games.

Angles is Freeplay’s first in-person festival in five years and you are warmly invited to its big comeback (which doubles as its 20th anniversary event). Bringing together unique and curious talks from a diverse range of speakers, Angles seeks to examine games from academic, creative and experimental approaches.

Whether you’re a stalwart of the scene, an emerging creator, or a curious newcomer, join us as we explore games' expressive and experimental potential together.

Talks, workshops, play-tests, exhibitions and more.

Note: Tickets for Angles Conference also includes entry to Angles Market on 8 June 2024.

Speakers

Keynote Speaker: Everest Pipkin

Everest Pipkin is a game developer, writer, and artist from central Texas who lives and works on a sheep farm in southern New Mexico. Their work both in the studio and in the garden follows themes of ecology, tool making, and collective care during collapse. When not at the computer in the heat of the day, you can find them in the hills spending time with their neighbours – both human and non-human.
