Christopher Nolan turns physics into fodder for the most tense thriller of the year starring Cillian Murphy as the father of the atomic bomb.
This is a film with intelligence, purpose and historic value.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin, Oppenheimer follows the titular physicist from his time at Cambridge University through to his time leading the Manhattan Project to develop the atomic bomb.
Cillian Murphy, as usual, delivers an intense and multi-layered performance as Oppenheimer and is surrounded by an overwhelmingly talented cast including Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Dane DeHaan, Josh Hartnett and Robert Downey Jr.
