Matthew Everitt is a proud Taungurung man of the Kulin from Central Victoria, Australia. Matthew and his partner established Dreamtime Art Creative Consultancy in 2009, working as trusted advisors mitigating risks underpinned by cultural appreciation and due diligence for Aboriginal Arts & Culture through their Indigenous Arts Management company.
He is a graduate in both Cultural Heritage Management (LaTrobe), Indigenous studies and community development (Victoria University),and is currently undertaking the Senior Execuitve MBA through Melbourne Business School. He is the former president and board member of the Aboriginal Art Association of Australia (AAAA) and its Cultural council and former board members of Kinaway - Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Taungurung Clans Aboriginal Corporation.
Matthew endeavors to play a positive and impactful role within Aboriginal communities. He believes leadership combines Indigenous knowledge systems and perspective, identity, and belonging as two-worlds combined. He strongly advocates for voices to be Indigenous heard, influence decision-making and informing policy design removing the ineffective consultation processes of policy development.
